Sharing ideas can help someone else and even win a grand prize.
Sharing ideas can help someone else — and even win a grand prize, as Paralympic gold medalist Nick Taylor found out last year when his adaptation of a pool cue bridge was the big winner of the Everyday Solutions contest.
The contest takes place in conjunction with the Mobility Rodeo sponsored by Kansas Truck Mobility and Hart Pharmacy of Wichita, Kan. This year’s rodeo, the fourth annual, is scheduled for Sept. 28.
Although the deadline for this year’s Everyday Solutions entries is past, all ideas will be displayed at the event, and the winner will receive a Pride lift chair or a $500 gift certificate for home medical supplies from Hart Pharmacy.
An estimated 300–400 people, the majority of whom are wheelchair users, attend the Mobility Rodeo and informally share ideas and information on how to live with limited mobility. The event is free and open to the public. Visitors will be able to test drive a Chevy Malibu with Bruno’s Chariot wheelchair lift, as well as a compact SUV with Bruno’s new Valet Seat Plus.
