Nine athletes were selected for the national A and B teams, as was one tandem pilot to the national B team. Six athletes were named to the National Development team. Groulx is one of seven reigning world champions returning. That group also includes Alicia Dana (Putney, Vt.), Aaron Keith (Woodinville, Wash.), Megan Fisher (Missoula, Mt.), Allison Jones (Colorado Springs, Colo.), Shawn Morelli (Leavenworth, Kan.) and Jamie Whitmore (Mount Aukum, Calif.).

In 2014, the U.S. won the overall and gold medal count at the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) Para-cycling Road World Championships in Greenville, S.C.

“We are confident that the team we have named for the 2015 season will continue the momentum we developed last year as we keep our sights firmly set on being the world’s best cycling team at the Rio [de Janeiro] Paralympic Games,” says Ian Lawless, high performance director for U.S. Paralympics Cycling. “From the returning world champions to the athletes who are on the cusp of podium finishes, we expect 2015 to be a year of continued growth and excellence.”

Team USA begins the 2015 season Feb. 7–8 with the U.S. Paralympics Track Cycling Open at the Velo Center in Carson, Calif., to select the team that will compete at the March 26–29 UCI Para-cycling Track World Championships in Apeldoorn, Netherlands. Additional athletes may be added throughout the season.
